Carla Cope- Carla believes that “Creativity” is the basis of our human experience. If we are not practiced in being creative, then we cannot innovate our future and progress as a society on the leading edge.Carla encourages a practice of Expressive Art, which combines an intention set in short meditation, receiving visual images in our minds eye, quick gesture painting/drawing to illustrate our visions, and a brief writing about our first impression of the visions emotional meaning to ourself. After this practice is done, we can go back and create a finished work of art that has a special message and meaning from our soul to our conscious awareness. It provides us with insight into our emotional processing and self discovery. This process can enrich the emotional impact on our artwork and create a more satisfying painting process. Laura Whalen Hi, my name is Laura Whalen and I’m 18-years-old. I moved to Lakewood Ranch, Florida when I was six-years-old and I’m currently earning my High School Diploma and my Associate’s Degree at State College of Florida Collegiate School. After graduation, I plan on earning my Bachelor’s in Digital Media Design at Florida Gulf Coast University. I started attending classes at Let’s Create Art when I was in the 7th grade and learned many different medias including charcoal, acrylic, oils, watercolor, and pen & ink. I spent a few years learning more techniques and skills under Natalia Zezyanova and I eventually was offered a job at Let’s Create Art due to my talent. My school does not provide electives in Art, therefore Let’s Create Art was the perfect place to grow artistically with the help of all the superb teachers. I hope my story encourages others to attend classes at Let’s Create Art because everything you need to accomplish your artistic goals is here!
